Pastor's Notes
Happy Saturday to all as we move into October! Oct 4th is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. He has the distinction of being patron saint of animals and such. Now part of this was because he was reported to have preached to the birds and animals. However, Francis was never a priest, so preaching to humans was not permitted. He could however preach to animals (and maybe any human that happened to hear). So we will bless animals as a sign of God's love for all creation! BTW, if you ever get a chance to visit Assisi, do so. It is a small little town but very beautiful. The Basilica there is amazing. Make sure to climb on top of the hill to the castle to get a view.
CHANGE OF ADDRESS: Since we moved our offices to the parish center our new mailing address is 1200 S. Arlington Ave. Reno, Nv 89509. Please make that change to any correspondence. USPS has been placing notices on our incoming mail.
Heads up, I will be taking my vacation starting on Oct 12th (to Spain and Basque country). Fr. Boby is due back that same day. During my time away Monday masses will be cancelled, but Fridays will restart with Fr. Boby.
It is October that also means count month. During the weekend masses our sacristans/greeters count all who attend mass.
